The local highlight is the Blätterbach Gorge, declared a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. In the Grand Canyon of South Tyrol, not only archaeologists go looking for clues (from May to October).

Skiing, snowboarding, sledging and more: the winter sports areas Ski Center Latemar (22 km), Alpe Cermis and Jochgrimm (30 km each) as well as Carezza (34 km) and Alpe Lusia (45 km) offer great snow experience.

During the Christmas season, a visit to the Christkindl-market is mandatory. These markets round the advent time up to what it is. You have the choice from super simple and contemplative to extra large and many-faceted.

South Tyrol's south and Trentino can be best explored on two wheels. There are rustic trails, gravel forest roads or particularly popular: the famouse route of the Val di Fiemme railway (6 km). It is considered the most beautiful cycle route in northern Italy.

In summer, the temperature rises above 30degrees Celsius. The reward for the excursion to the moss-green Lake Göller (2.5 km): swimming in the middle of a forest.
In the area there are other bathing lakes with freezing cold to delightfully warm water.

As diverse as a city and yet as manageable as a village: that's Bolzano, the provincial capital of South Tyrol (37 km). There are alleys to stroll through, markets to browse in and taverns to linger in.
And hardly further away, Trento (53 km) scores as the capital of Trentino with great shops.
